The Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 in 18 ct yellow gold with a silver dial, fluted bezel and a President bracelet. The Day-Date was the first watch to indicate the day of the week spelt out in full when it was first presented in 1956.

THE FLUTED BEZEL A ROLEX SIGNATURE: The Rolex fluted bezel is a mark of distinction. Originally, the fluting of the Oyster bezel had a functional purpose: it served to screw the bezel onto the case helping to ensure the waterproofness of the watch. It was therefore identical to the fluting on the case back, which was also screwed onto the case for waterproofness, using specific Rolex tools. Over time, the fluting became an aesthetic element, a genuine Rolex signature feature. Today the fluted bezel is a mark of distinction, always in gold.

SILVER DIAL A WATCHMAKING TECHNIQUE: The sunray finish creates delicate light reflections on many dials in the Oyster Perpetual collection. It is obtained using masterful brushing techniques that create grooves running outwards from the centre of the dial. Light is diffused consistently along each engraving, creating a characteristic subtle glow that moves depending on the position of the wrist. Once the sunray finish has been completed, the dial colour is applied using Physical Vapour Deposition or electroplating. A light coat of varnish gives the dial its final look.

(2.4) Reserve Met / On Sale.

Should any item(s) / lots(s) be invoiced prior to the end of sale the invoice is to be paid within 48 Hours, Meaning the payment deadline for this sale set out in (3.2 & within the item description) becomes void.

(3.4) Request to cancel the sale / contract.

If a winning bidder should request to cancel the Contract / Purchase of any lot(s) / item(s) after winning and auction has ended, it is down to the auctioneer discretion to decide if this this is acceptable.

If the auctioneer agrees then all the following fees will apply WITH NO EXCEPTIONS to void the contract / sale:

CANCELLATION FEE AT THE RATE OF THE BUYERS PREMIUM STATED WITHIN THE "ADDITIONAL FEES TAB” (THERE WILL BE NO NEGOTIATION ON ANY CANCELLATION FEE)
AUCTION ENTRY FEE WILL ALSO BE CHARGED TO THE BUYER AT THE RATE OF £95 PLUS VAT (TO ALLOW THE VENDOR TO RE-AUCTION AT NO COST IF THEY SHOULD CHOOSE TO DO SO)

(4) Failure to make payment / complete transaction.

PLEASE BE AWARE: CAPITAL ASSET REMARKETING HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ANY NON PAYMENTS (NO EXCETPTIONS)

FAILURE TO MAKE PAYMENT / COMPLETE THE CONTRACT (UNDER THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS / AUCTION TERMS OF SALE) WILL RESULT IN THE FOLLOWING.

THE BUYER IS AGREEING TO PAY THE BUYERS PREMIUM AT THE RATE SHOWN (AUCTIONS LOSS) IN ITEM SUMMARY IF THE ACCOUNT HOLDER OR ANY ATTACHED COMPANY DECIDES FOR ANY REASON TO WITHDRAW FROM THE PURCHASE. THIS PAYMENT MUST BE MADE ON THE DAY OF CANCELLATION.

IMMEDIATE APPLICATION FOR COUNTY COURT PROCEEDINGS, CCJ / BAILIFF / SHERIFF ACTION WILL BE APPLIED FOR TO RECOVER THE OUTSTANDING INVOICE AMOUNT, PLUS LEGAL FEES OR ANY OTHER COST’S INCURRED.
LATE PAYMENT FEE’S WILL APPLY: AT THE RATE OF 2.5% PLUS VAT OF THE TOTAL OUTSTANDING INVOICE, BE AWARE THAT A NEW INVOICE WILL BE SENT (BY EMAIL) EACH DAY WITH A NEW TOTAL AMOUNT SHOWING EACH DAYS LATE PAYMENT FEE.
CAPITAL ASSET REMARKETING ALLOW 5 DAYS (INCLUDING WEEKENDS) TO COLLECT OR ARRANGE DELIVERY WITH CAPITAL ASSET REMARKETING.
IF COUNTY COURT PROCEEDINGS SHOULD BE TAKEN THEN ALL OUTSTANDING FEE’S WILL BE APPLIED FOR IN RESULT OF NON PAYMENT OF INVOICE IE: OUTSTANDING INVOICE AMOUNT, LATE PAYMENT FEE’S, STORAGE FEE’S AND ANY LEGAL FEE’S TO RECOVER OUTSTANDING FUNDS, BUYERS PREMIUM CHARGED (Please refer to additional fees tab) INTEREST ON THE TOTAL OUTSTANDING AMOUNT (AT THE CURRANT SANTANDER BANK INTEREST RATE) AND ANY OTHER COSTS INCURRED.

(5) Deposit Request.

The auctioneer may reserve the right to ask any bidder new or existing to capital asset remarketing without reason for a £300 deposit from the account holder.

non successful bidders will receive a deposit refund (by bank transfer) within 48 hours of the end of said auction / sale unless the bidder is happy to leave it on account.

(5.1) Removal Of Lot(s)

The auctioneer reserves the right for any reason to remove any lot / item from any current live auction at any giving time.

(6) Viewing lot(s) / items.

Capital Asset Remarketing & the Vendor(s) strongly advise viewing / inspection prior to bidding on any lot / item.

Failure to view prior to bidding will fall upon the account holders own choice to do so against the advice of Capital Asset Remarketing / Vendor(s)

Capital Asset Remarketing DOES NOT test any lot(s) / item(s) unless otherwise stated in any lot / item description. (see lot / item description prior to submitting any bid)

If description does not state (TESTED) then it as not been tested in any way, Capital Asset Remarketing advise viewing and testing

(6.3) Images of lot(s).

All photos are uploaded to show the interior & exterior as guideline only.

(7.2) Documentation of lot(s) / item(s)
Item description / auctioneers remarks (See 7.4) will state if there is a V5 Logbook present / To Apply or to follow / obtain.

All lots / items (where necessary) will be HPI checked, you can request a copy of the report once payment has been received (All reports will be sent by email) hard copies can be requested at the rate of £40 plus vat.

(7.3) Personal registration plates.

Some lot(s) / item(s) May have a personal registration number, lot description / auctioneers remarks (See 7.4) will advise if the lot(s) / item(s) will be sold with the private registration shown, If description does not state PRIVATE REG INCLUDED IN THE SALE then it will not be included by any means. Capital Asset Remarketing will require a NON REFUNDABLE deposit to remove any personal registration from any said item or lot (if not included in sale) no greater than £500 (if the lot is less than £2000 (hammer price) then deposit of 10%) but no less than £100.

(7.4) Auctioneers remarks.

Any known faults, issues or discrepancies will be listed on each individual item description under ‘Auctioneers Remarks’ at the bottom of each page in item summary / description.

Failure to read or fully understand this important information shall be solely down to the account holder.

Capital Asset Remarketing accept no responsibility for not doing so.

(9.0) Item operating condition:

Runner:

Lot(s) / item(s) stating Runner / Runs and drives means that this lot / item starts and drives (item moves) but does not mean inspected or driven on the public highway and could still be subject to defects / other

Non Runner:

Lot(s) / item(s) stating Non Runner means it will not start / drive, for reasons unknown unless stated in item description.Capital asset remarketing / vendors except no responsibility and potential buyers bid / buy at there own risk.

Non Runner inspection:
Capital Asset Remarketing does not allow mechanical inspection by potential buyers, mechanic / expert for Non Runners before or after bidding on that said lot / item until it as been removed from the property of collection.

No keys:

Lot(s) / item(s) stating no keys can not be attempted to start,there for no inspection at all will be given to lots alike any item stated no keys are sold and must be accepted as a non runner.

V car register / Category hit list:

Any lot stating V car category means, that the vehicle has been damaged in the past or is still damaged at the time of sale.

CAT A. Scrap only.
CAT B. braking only.
CAT C / S. damaged repaired.
CAT D / N. lighter damaged repaired.

All lots / items registered on the V-CAR register will be stated under "auctioneers remarks” (see auctioneer remarks on item of interest)

(9.1) Recorded mileage or hours.

Capital Asset Remarketing try to give as accurate information on all items / lots.

Mileage warranted / correct:

The mileage as been warranted by the vendor.

Mileage verified:

The mileage can be checked back through vosa mot history check and there are no mileage discrepancies as far as the vows web site shows.

Mileage un-verified / incorrect / implausible:

The item has no V5 Logbook to run a vosa mot history check or the vendor can not verify the mileage,

and the intentional buyer should carry there own investigations to satisfy themselves, as the true mileage must be deemed unknown, history checks weather vosa mot history check or any other checks show the true mileage differs to the mileage shown on the odometer / clock and true

mileage un-known. Any potential buyers should beware of this at all times.

Mileage not displayed:

At anytime should mileage / hours not be displayed for any reason it is sold deemed mileage / hours totally unknown, not warranted or incorrect.

Mileage incorrect:

All remarks stating mileage incorrect should be taken as read:

I.E: the mileage is untrue.

Capital Asset Remarketing / Vendor(s) - Advise on any item(s) mileage / operating hours ONLY for guidance purposes, At no time should any readings be relied upon.

Therefor it is down to the Account Holder / Bidder to do there own thorough investigations to fully satisfy themselves prior to bidding on any lot(s)

Mileage may increase:

Mileage may increase on any said lot / item if stated under the “Auctioneers Remarks”

(9.2) MOT Certificate / Plate for H.G.V:

Capital Asset Remarketing / Vendor(s) hold no responsibility for defects on any item with or without a valid Mot certificate.

If the summary does not state there is a valid mot, it should be taken as read there is not one on the item or Capital Asset Remarketing are not in possession of one.

Any discrepancies / advisorys on a Mot certificate shall be the buyers responsibility.

(This can be checked online prior to bidding)

(10) Vendors:

All Lot(s) / Item(s) maybe from different sources and may be entered for auction by the following:

Private owner, Trader entry, Company direct, Finance company, Main dealer direct, Finance repossession, Salvage, Seized, and others alike.

(11) Refunds / Buy Backs / Renegotiations:

Capital Asset Remarketing / Vendors advise that there will be no Refunds, Buy Backs or Renegotiations in any case if the buyer should be dissatisfied with any purchase(s) made.

Please refer to (6 & 6.1 for viewing and inspection terms, As well as 7.4 for any auctioneers remarks)

(12) TERMS AND CONDITIONS / TERMS OF SALE.

Capital Asset Remarketing reserve the right to update our terms and conditions / terms of sale at any given time without notification.

Any returning bidder(s) should be make there self fully aware of any updated Terms of Sale / Terms & Conditions.
